Part 1: Construction Phase
Our Custom Home Begins Its Journey

Construction Floor joists are lined up and framed in to assemble the home's floor.
Construction The underside of the home's floor is then wrapped to protect it during travel to the site.
Construction Dormers (if called for in the home's plan) are constructed during the same time in a different building.

Plumbing is added to the home's floor.

The home's exterior "side" walls are constructed on long tables and then drywall is applied.
Construction
The interior walls of the home are built and drywall is applied. They are then stacked on wheeled carts to be pushed to the line where they wait to be lifted into place.

An exterior wall is lifted from the table into staging area until it is placed on the home's floor.

Construction The home's floor is pulled into the main production building and placed on to the roller system which will move the home down the line.
Construction Plastic that covered the floor to protect it from weather during the move from one building to the next is removed.
Construction The floor is ready and waiting walls that are being stored vertically prior to placement on the floor.
Construction Interior walls begin to be lifted into place and fastened.
Construction Electrical wiring is run through interior walls.
Construction As walls are being set into place and wiring is being run, at the next station the first floor ceiling is being assembled. First drywall is laid on the table and then the ceiling is built on top of it.
Construction More interior walls continue to be set into place.
Construction Roof trusses are added to the second floor ceilings.
Construction Ceiling / Roof is attached to crane so that it can be lifted into place on top of the home's walls.
Construction Ceiling and roof are set on top of the home's walls and fastened into place.
Construction The dormer's roof is applied.
Construction Insulation is added to the home's exterior walls.
Construction Exterior walls are being sheathed.
Construction Wiring, plumbing, and insulation are added to the home's interior walls. Drywall is then placed on the walls.

Drywall is completed on walls and application of the drywall joint compound "mud" begins. This is a slow process due to drying time between coats.

The drywall process continues.

Construction Exterior walls are wrapped with Tyvek and then windows are installed.
Construction Ceiling details are built.
Construction Second coat of drywall 'mud is applied.
Construction After drywall mud is dry it will be sanded and primer will be applied. Windows are all installed in the home.
Construction Meanwhile atop the home, duct work for HVAC is added to the ceiling and roof.
Construction Roof sections on one and two story sections are sheathed.
Construction First story boxes are wrapped with plastic and made weather tight.
Construction Ceiling details are "mudded".
Construction Sheathing is covered with felt paper in prep for shingling the roof.
Construction Roof sections that can be shingled are shingled.
Construction

The home's roof is completed and open areas are sealed against weather.

Construction Siding is applied to exterior walls where possible.
Construction Kitchen cabinets are installed.
Construction Dormer receives soffit, siding and flashing.
Construction

Molding and trim is applied to the interior walls.

Construction Home's flooring is installed and plastic is placed over carpet to protect it.
Construction Drywall is sanded and then coated with primer.
Construction Home is attached to its carrier and pulled outside to finish items and prepare for shipping.
Construction Dormers for the home are added to the home's carrier for shipment.
Construction Home is sealed tight in preparation for shipment to the site.
Construction Home as it sits and is awaiting pick up from builder for delivery to the site today.
